65 Reds Fight On!

2 Jul by Tim Conlan

Leyton Orient over 65 Reds went into this round of 4 games, needing points to move away from the relegation zone, facing the sides one above and one below them in the table.

Though starting well against Southend Blue and taking a well deserved lead via a Ridley goal, errors crept in resulting in a costly 2-1 defeat.

This was followed up by a 1-0 defeat by Chelmsford Blue. Another avoidable error leading to the opposition goal.

Reds now faced teams above them in the league having gained nil points so far. Reds played so much better in these games with a deserved 1-0 victory over Billericay Blues, another fine finish from Ridley, and a 0-0 draw against Eastwood Falcons Yellows.

Captain/Manager Mick Mullins commented: “Very disappointed with our first 2 results but things definitely turned round in the last two games where pride was somewhat restored. We go into the final round of games in September needing positive results to ensure survival in the division”
