Club News - December 2025

The Club Committee wants to remind all members that behaviour on the pitch needs to reflect the FA Respect agenda. This is both to referees and to each other. Session referees are all volunteers and do this work to support the Club. We do not want to see players continually challenging referee decisions.

The committee reflected on the success of the Awards evening and all thanked Mick Mullins for the hard work he put in to make it happen.

The Club have decided to enter the following teams in the Essex League next year: Over 50s Reds and Whites; over 60s (Tuesday); over 65s Reds and Whites and Over 70s Reds and Whites. There will not be a team entered in the over 60s (Saturday) as the Club have faced challenges getting three Saturday teams out and decided that the over 50s Whites had the biggest pool of players. The women have been entered in both the Herts and Essex Leagues.

There will be some concerted work planned for the New Year to increase the number of women members with two regular members, Anna Murray and Chantel Rose leaving London. The Club wishes them good luck with their moves.

The trip to Dublin is likely to take place. David Clancy has secured games against Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians. Dates and final details have been published in the Fixtures.

Pre-season games for men and women will start to be arranged, with some at Wadham Lodge.
