Disappointment In Herts

25 Mar by Trevor Ridley

On Sunday, March 23 the 2025 Herts league kicked off for Leyton Orient Walking Fc women.

Leyton Orient, playing in the Premiership, began with four games, as Luton had withdrawn.

Orient played games against Football Fitness Phoenix, Cheshunt Hawks, Cheshunt Eagles, and Chesham United. It turned out to be a very frustrating afternoon of football with the O’s only drawing one game and losing the other three.

o * Leyton Orient results: *

Football Fitness Phoenix 1 v 1 Leyton Orient (Selner).
Leyton Orient 0 v 1 Cheshunt Hawks
Cheshunt Eagles 2 v 0 Leyton Orient
Leyton Orient 0 v 1 Chesham

In Orient’s second game Williams made an excellent penalty save to keep Orient in the game. Orient created chances in each game but could not convert them mainly due to good goalkeeping by the opposition keepers.

Manager, Sherrille Hyatt commented after play that, “playing the day before in the Essex League is a factor that will need to be carefully managed going forward but despite a disappointing afternoon from a results perspective there was much to be encouraged by”.

Leyton Orient squad: Chris Williams (Gk), Alison Kay, Debbie Lewzey, Clare Kavanagh, Andree Selner (Cpt), Frances Handley, Sam Baker (Vice-Cpt), Lynda Dowling.

Manager: Sherrille Hyatt

Goalscorers: Selner.
