Lessons To Be Learned For Orient 60s!

19 Feb by Trevor Ridley

On Tuesday 18th February Leyton Orient Walking FC over 60s played Stones Athletic over 60s in a series of three friendly matches at Wadham Lodge.

A misunderstanding regarding kick off time led to a significant reduction in playing time. The need to rotate players to ensure equal playing time for all nine players meant that frequent half time substitutions led to disjointed performances resulting in three disappointing 1-0 defeats.

Though Orient had a good amount of possession, they carried limited threat to the Stones goal. Some good saves from Weston in goal, including a penalty, were the highlights for the O’s. So, a lot to ponder for the coming season for the 60s.

Leyton Orient squad: Tony Weston (Gk), Tim Conlan, Chris Conlan, Micky Howard, Stevie Dunn, Mick Mullins (Cpt), Derek Slater, Peter Rains, Maurice Birnbaum.
