Committee News - November 2024

19 Nov by Trevor Ridley

The Club has again achieved its FA One star FA accreditation. The Club will receive six new footballs as a reward.

The Committee met and agreed that the election of Managers and Captains and Management Teams will take place in January 2025. This is to enable Management Teams to be in place for the pre-season training and friendlies. There will be an AGM in April for other Committee posts including the friendlies and tournaments Selection Committee.

Sherrille Hyatt will become the manager of the Women’s team in the Herts League.

On tours, the Club will seek to enter one over 65s team in the Mallorca Tournament if numbers allow.

The women want to explore interest in the Blackpool tournament and the committee agreed that a £30 fee will be charged to those going to Dublin to cover taxi and referee fees.

The FA walking football rule that leads to a penalty after four non-walking offences will be adopted at all sessions, except Wednesdays.

The Wednesday session will run until the end of March 2025.

The Committee will review the Wednesday and Friday sessions at the next meeting. Key questions are over the length of time to run the new Wednesday session, the possible lack of volunteers to run the Wednesday session. Other question included whether to cap the Friday numbers at 28 and to rebrand Friday as a community session.

A new red kit has been bought for the men’s teams.
