New Community Session PLUS Changes To Women's Session

31 Oct by Trevor Ridley

Leyton Orient Walking FC reveal a new Wednesday Community session as well as updates to Thursdays women’s sessions.

The Club have negotiated an additional walking football training session at the new Score Centre. The session is from 11am to 12 noon on Wednesdays. The first session will be on Wednesday 13th November and on every other Wednesday until Christmas although there will be no session on 27th November due to a volleyball tournament.

The new Score is an excellent facility, with changing rooms, lockers and it is * warm. *

The pitches are hard but with a little more ‘give’ than the old Score.

Games will be limited to 6-a-side with a maximum of 16 players able to sign up.

The session is open to women over 40 and men over 50 years of age. The Club are keen to build this into a mixed gender session.

There are two important areas that members need to consider before attending.

o * 1 * There is no parking. Also at present there is no secure bicycle park area or any cycle racks.
o * 2 * Players must wear trainers that have white, brown or coloured soles. Black soled trainers are NOT allowed.

The sessions on November 13th and 20th as well as the session on December 4th will be * FREE. * After that, the sessions will be charged at £5 per session. It is hoped that the money saved in the first three sessions will go someway to offset the cost of any new trainers players may have to purchase.

o * Change to women’s session * On Thursday 7th November the Women’s Thursday session becomes a Community session. This means there will be no training exercises or drills during the session. The games will be refereed by either Dave Jones or Simon Baker.
