Orient Overpower Hammers

On a very warm Saturday morning Orient travelled the short distance down the A13 to Jenkins Fields pitches to take on West Ham in a much anticipated set of friendly walking football games.

The format for the day was that there was going to be two games of twenty minutes and one game of ten minutes to make full use of the allocated time on the pitch.

The first game started well for Orient with goals from Evans and Eades. Adams then added a long range effort which put Orient three up before West Ham pulled one back. Final score: West Ham 1 v 3 Leyton Orient (Evans, Eades, Adams).

In the second game Orient again got of to a good start. The O’s were playing really well with Eades and Evans scoring again. West Ham then scored one of their own but Orient were too strong and scored two more with Evans and Birnbaum slotting in goals three and four. Final score: West Ham 1 v 4 Leyton Orient (Evans 2, Eades, Birnbaum).

The final game was only 10 minutes long and West Ham took a early lead. From then on it was end to end but Orient just couldn’t get the equaliser. Final score: Leyton Orient 0 v 1 West Ham.

Neophytou said after the match, ‘Well done to all today all played well and very enjoyable.’
